Darkinson Lane

New Build House

The Project

We are delighted to announce that we received full planning permission for a new dwelling on Darkinson Lane, Preston. The client has owned the land for many years, which currently has stables, ménage and a caravan situated on the site.

Due to a compulsory purchase order form the local authority the clients land has been split in 2 which has raised security concerns for the horses and is the main reason a caravan is now on the site, so that someone can remain in the area with the horses. A new dwelling is required for the client so that the land can continue to be used as a stables and ménage.

Following our design process we submitted a full planning application for the scheme to Preston Council. During our design process it became apparent that the whole site required a reworking, therefore as well as the dwelling we submitted plans to relocate the stables and ménage to a more appropriate position.

The proposal for the dwelling was for a high quality 2.5 storey 5 bedroom dwelling, while the stables would be rebuilt in the same materials and form as those already on the site. The property is designed to complement the neighbouring houses, with pitched roofs and traditional forms, whilst maintaining a contemporary appearance.

We are delighted that planning was approved and the dwelling is currently under construction. We look forward to visiting the completed dwelling.
