Project Overview
This site has been vacant for decades, currently occupied by derelict garages and overgrown landscaping. Historically, it housed Riley Street, a row of terraced homes demolished in the early 20th century. The proposal seeks to rejuvenate this neglected site with a thoughtfully designed home that also addresses community concerns.
We carefully reviewed and addressed the issues that led to the refusal of a 2014 application for four houses, ensuring this scheme enhances the site’s use and outlook. One significant concern was the lack of parking for nearby residents. To tackle this, the proposal includes five new dedicated parking spaces for neighbouring homes in addition to retaining the two existing spaces. This will reduce reliance on street parking, improve safety, and benefit the community overall.
The design is carefully tailored to fit the site’s natural terrain and respects the privacy of neighbouring properties. In response to previous concerns about parking, the proposal includes five new spaces for nearby residents, alongside dedicated parking for Kim’s home. An unused public footpath crossing the site will also be relocated to improve access without compromising privacy.
With thoughtful landscaping, high-quality materials inspired by the area’s character, and a focus on sustainability, this project promises to transform a neglected plot into a beautiful, welcoming home that benefits both Kim and the local community.
Timescales
We were originally appointed in February 2024, with planning succesfully achieved via a committee meeting in November 2024. Construction is estimated to start on site in June 2025.
