Project Overview

David and Rebecca came to us with a vision: to extend and reconfigure their home, which is beautifully situated in the green belt with stunning views and ample garden space. Their primary goal was to increase the size of their home while optimising the internal layouts to fully embrace the extraordinary surroundings.

To achieve this, we devised a strategic planning approach, working closely with the local authority to secure the necessary permissions for the desired development. Our design focuses on enhancing the connection between the home and its natural environment. Externally, the house is undergoing a full transformation, incorporating carefully chosen materials like timber and real stone to complement the rural setting.

The highlight of the extension is the master bedroom, which has been meticulously designed to capture the breathtaking view of the nearby lake, ensuring the new layout maximizes both the scenery and the home’s functionality.

Our Favourite Memory

One of the most rewarding parts of this project has been the close collaboration with David and Rebecca. Together, we explored a wide range of options, from material selection to layout and scale, often introducing them to ideas they hadn’t considered. Working collaboratively with the local authority to bring this vision to life has also been a particularly satisfying aspect of the process.

Timescales

Due to the staged nature of the planning process, the project has taken around 4-6 months from initial design to securing planning approval. This careful, collaborative approach has ensured that David and Rebecca’s dream extension can become a reality, perfectly blending with its surroundings while enhancing the overall living experience.
