Project Overview
BCAE Architects is proud to be working with CitySide and a leading property fund to deliver Withington Heights, an innovative extra care facility designed to meet BREEAM Excellent standards. This ambitious project is centred on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, creating a benchmark for high-quality, adaptable urban living.
The development will provide flexible, spacious dwellings designed to serve as "homes for life," accommodating a wide range of needs. The design prioritises accessibility and adaptability, featuring generous natural light, thoughtfully planned amenities, and cutting-edge smart technology. An on-site care team available 24/7 will ensure residents receive the support they need in a modern, enabling environment that fosters independence.
As the main point of contact between CitySide and the wider design team, we’ve taken a collaborative approach to ensure every detail aligns with the vision for this project, blending contemporary architecture with essential support systems to redefine urban care living.
Our Favourite Memory
One of the standout moments so far has been presenting the early concept visuals to CitySide and their partners. Seeing their enthusiasm as the designs took shape and their recognition of the project's potential to positively impact residents’ lives was incredibly rewarding.
Timescales
We have been working with CitySide since mid-2024, with the project currently progressing through developed design. A full planning application is anticipated for mid-2025, and we are excited to oversee its development into a transformative, community-focused space.
