Two Storey Side Extension
The Project
The property is set on a generous plot along Foxglove Drive, it is also set back considerably from the main road with and extensive driveway from the south, and is viewed across a large patch of open green space to the west.
The existing plot consists of trees and hedging at the front and side of the property which help to shield the property from view. Especially with regards to the location of the proposed extension and garage, meaning that the proposal would have a minimal impact on the street scene.
The proposal was for a high quality 2 storey side extension with pitched roof to match the existing pitch and design, as well as a single storey detached double garage, with its design and roof matching the architectural style of the existing property.
The aim of the proposed extension is to provide the owners with a extra living space within the property, and more generous bedrooms creating a dwelling that would be more associated with its size of the plot.
The height of the extension has been dictated by the existing eave heights and pitch of the existing roof.
The proposed extension complements and enhances the overall appearance of the existing dwelling, creating a more symetrical design with the feature gable now occupying a more central position within the proposal.
